Terms and Conditions

Welcome to The Bare Stone Studio. By booking a workshop, enrolling in a course, or purchasing goods from us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Workshops and Courses

Due to our limited seating and the preparation required for our sessions, we have a strict policy regarding cancellations and rescheduling.

  • Cancellation Notice Periods: To receive a Studio Credit or apply for a discretionary refund, you must provide notice via email at ali@thebarestonestudio.com within the following timeframes:
    • One-off Workshops: At least 72 hours' notice.
    • Multi-Week Courses: At least 10 days' notice.
  • Refunds & Discretionary Policy: In accordance with Australian Consumer Law, we generally do not offer refunds for change of mind or personal circumstances. However, we acknowledge that exceptional circumstances occur.
    • If you notify us within the notice periods listed above, a refund may be issued at the absolute discretion of The Bare Stone Studio.
    • All discretionary refunds will incur a 10% cancellation fee to cover administrative and transaction costs.
  • Late Cancellations & No-Shows: If you cancel outside of the required notice period or fail to attend, the full booking fee is forfeited.
  • Late Arrivals: Classes involve essential health, safety, and technical demonstrations. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be refused entry. No refunds or credits apply.
  • Course Attendance: We cannot offer "make-up" sessions for missed classes within a multi-week course.

 

2. Goods Sold (Glazes, Ceramic Pieces, etc.)

Our refund policy for physical goods is governed by the Australian Consumer Law.

  • Change of Mind: We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits for change of mind.
  • Faulty or Damaged Items: If an item is faulty, significantly different from the description, or unfit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund depending on the severity of the fault).
  • Handmade Variance: Handmade ceramic items and glazes naturally vary in colour, texture, and finish. These unique characteristics are not considered faults.

 

3. Studio Cancellations

The Bare Stone Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. In this event, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or a Studio Credit.

 

4. Collection of Finished Work

Pieces must be collected within 3 months of the notification that they are ready. Due to limited storage, any work not collected after this period will be disposed of or repurposed.

 

5. Gift Vouchers

  • No Expiry: Gift vouchers purchased for The Bare Stone Studio do not have an expiry period.
  • Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, but are transferable to another person.
